On Armistice Day, Sky Sports pays tribute to some of the British sportsmen who redirected their sporting passions and energies into the First World War effort – and paid the ultimate price.
Among the fallen in the war, which started 100 years ago, was England rugby captain Ronnie Poulton-Palmer, who was killed by a sniper’s bullet at Ploegsteert Wood on May 5, 1915.
