Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has encouraged Alastair Cook to step down as captain of the one day side carrying out a humbling eight-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka.
Pietersen, 34, was lost in the squad from the England and Wales Cricket board in February and later released an autobiography claiming the England dressing room were beset with a bullying culture.
