England captain Alastair Cook said the whole team was “in shock” after waking to the news of the serious head injury suffered by Australia batsman Phillip Hughes.
The 25-year old is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a bouncer while bat for South Australia against New South Wales in Sydney on Tuesday.
