Security standards for helmets in county cricket are set to be greater than ever next season but players’ leader Angus Porter has warned the threat to batsmen WOn’t ever be entirely removed.
The cricket world was left shocked by the sickening injuries endured by South Australia batsman Phil Hughes in a Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales, but security never slid down the program at organisations like the Professional Cricketers’ Association.
