Moeen Ali will open the England batting alongside Alastair Cook in their warm-up game against Sri Lanka A in Colombo on Friday.
Alex Hales, who made his ODI debut as a power-hitting foil for captain Cook in last summer’s Royal London Series defeat against India, will make way for Moeen at the SSC ground.
