Essex boosted their hopes of being promoted from LV= County Championship Division Two having a nine-wicket triumph over Kent at Chelmsford.
Using a haul of 22 points in the match, Essex moved up third spot in the table with two fixtures staying, the latter of which is against league leaders Worcestershire.
