Steven Mullaney agrees new deal at Nottinghamshire until end of 2017 season

Nottinghamshire allrounder Steven Mullaney has agreed a contract extension that will keep him at Trent Bridge before the close of the 2017 season.


The 28-year old helped Notts win the 2010 County Championship title following his move from Lancashire and he was named the county’s player of the year in 2013.

County Cricket: 2015 fixture list supported

County winners Yorkshire will start the defence of the title at New Road against encouraged Worcestershire to the opening day of the 2015 season.


The new effort begins on Sunday, April 12, with eight matches over both divisions. Division Two winners Hampshire host Sussex in Southampton while Somerset take on Durham in Taunton and 2014 runnersup Nottinghamshire journey to Lord’s to confront Middlesex.

Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders to win Champions League T20 title

Suresh Raina smashed a brilliant unbeaten century as Chennai Super Kings romped to an eight-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the Champions League T20 final in Bangalore.


Kolkata made 180-6 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat, opener Gautam Gambhir scoring 80, but the Super Kings reached their target with nine balls to spare and claimed the title for the second time.

County Championship: Yorkshire openers Adam Lyth and Alex Lees honoured at Cricket Writers" Club Awards

Yorkshire’s opening batsmen Adam Lyth and Alex Lees have claimed the top honours in the Cricket Writers’ Club Awards.


The pair played a vital part in Yorkshire’s LV= County Championship title success this season so that as a result Lyth continues to be named the William Hill CWC Championship Player of the Year, with Lees picking up the CWC Young Cricketer of the Year award.

James Tomlinson took six wickets as Hampshire beat Glamorgan to seal promotion and the LV= County Championship Division Two title.


Tomlinson returned amounts of 6-48 as Glamorgan were whittled out for 152 in their second innings in the SWALEC Stadium as well as the visitors won by 291 runs.

LV= County Championship: Yorkshire leave Nottinghamshire in trouble at Trent Bridge




Yorkshire took a major step towards claiming the LV= County Championship title, reducing Nottinghamshire to 58-4 by the end of day two in reply to 532-9.


The White Rose county – who know victory at Trent Bridge will secure the crown for the first time since 2001 – had finally declared their first innings when Tim Bresnan fell agonisingly short of a first century in seven years, the all-rounder caught at mid-wicket for 95.

County Championship: Adam Lyth century leads Yorkshire title charge against Nottinghamshire

Adam Lyth scored his sixth hundred of the season as Yorkshire took a giant stride towards securing the LV= County Championship title on day one of their penultimate match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.


The visitors chargred to a score of 319-4 on the first day of their Division One match against trophy rivals Nottinghamshire, with Whitby-born Lyth – fresh from scoring 251 against Lancashire last week – furthering his claim for a place in England’s Test side.
