Jesse Ryder looks set to miss out on a place in New Zealand’s World Cup squad after withdrawing from New Zealand A’s tour of the United Arab Emirates later this month.
The 30-year-old all-rounder, who was in fine form for Essex last summer, told the selectors he was unavailable for personal reasons for the tour which involved two limited-overs matches against Ireland and others against the UAE and Afghanistan.

England’s James Taylor has dismissed Kevin Pietersen, who criticised his fellow batsman in his recent autobiography, as “one of those little people who doubts me”.
Taylor has made two Test and two one-day appearances for England since his international debut against Ireland in 2011, with his last appearance for the national team also coming in a one-dayer against Ireland in September 2013.

Jesse Ryder has enhanced his opportunities earning a worldwide recall by smashing a century off just 39 balls within a limited overs match against Ireland in New Zealand.
Starting the innings for Otago, the 30-year old from Wellington reached his half century off just 16 deliveries and went to make 136 as the hosts won by three wickets at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln.
